Jennette's Pier is a fun and interesting place to visit. It is now owned by the N.C. Aquarium Society, so they have a couple of fish tanks inside. You pay $2 per person and can walk on the long pie… Full review by LandSMom

Beautiful ocean pier with aquariums. Owned by the NC Aquarium. A wonderful way to see sea life that is native to NC. It's like a mini aquarium visit. Very inexpensive. Full review by Deborah R

Do you need a special net or is the distance from the pier to the water short enough for a 4-6 foot long net to bring in fish.

Just a regular net. It is not close, but you just reel up the fish. I guess you could net it as it gets close. It is really long way from the water.
