Toyota decided that “just” entering the Australian 2026 Repco Supercars Championship is simply not enough. Instead, it is ready to crash the party with a quartet of V8-powered GR Supras. Four of them!

The Toyota Supra is set to compete against the Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang in the competitive Australia Supercars race series.

Four GEN3 GR Supras will be part of the 2026 grid, with two cars run by Walkinshaw Andretti United (WAU). Supercars stars Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood will also represent Toyota on the track. Toyota’s partnership with WAU underscores its commitment to entering Supercars with the best possible team.

Toyota Australia has sensationally confirmed the GR Supra will race against Ford and Chevrolet in the V8 Supercars championship from 2026. In a blockbuster announcement, Toyota will field a minimum of four Gen3 GR Supras in 2026. Two will to be run by homologation team partner Walkinshaw Andretti United, driven by Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood.

Toyota is putting the V8 from the Lexus IS 500 into the GR Supra, but not quite the way you were hoping. This Toyota GR Supra is officially a Supercar, and the V8-powered beast will go to battle against the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro at iconic races like the Bathurst 1000.

Toyota will enter the Supercars Championship in Australia with a race-prepped GR Supra. The modified GR Supra will feature a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine from Lexus. Walkinshaw Andretti United will race the Supra against Ford Mustangs and Chevy Camaros.
