Russia is arming its Shahed attack drones with a new type of thermobaric warhead to cause maximum destruction to civilian buildings across Ukraine.

On the night of November 13, Russia launched a large-scale air attack on Ukraine, using various types of missiles, guided bombs, and attack drones. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 96 Russian air targets were recorded.

Russia carried out several missile strikes and launched 110 drones against Ukraine on the night of 11-12 November: Ukraine's air defence downed 46 drones, 60 had disappeared from radar and 2 entered the Belarusian airspace.

Russia overnight launched a “record” 145 drones at Ukrainian territory, according to Ukraine’s air force, 62 of which were shot down. A further 67 were “lost,” the air force said, a likely reference to electronic jamming that caused the drones to veer off course.

Over the course of October 2024, Russia launched more than 2,000 drones against Ukraine, with Ukrainian intelligence estimating that about half of these drones were decoys or fake targets that Russia used to distract and overwhelm Ukrainian air defences.
